FAQS

The questions below are grouped into three categories: Healthy Soil, Worm Farming, and Worm Business. Simply start with the group that best matches where you are today.

Do I need a worm bin if I have worms in my garden?

Garden worms play an important role in building healthy soil, but a worm bin offers different advantages.

It allows you to produce a steady supply of worm castings, reduce kitchen waste, and control both the quantity and quality of castings available for your plants.

It's also the easiest way to have fresh castings ready whenever your garden needs them.s designed to help you get started with confidence

What are worm castings and why are they so Valuable?

Worm castings (Worm manure) are one of nature's best soil amendments.

They improve soil structure, support beneficial microbial life, help plants absorb nutrients more efficiently, and encourage healthier root development. Whether you're growing vegetables, flowers, trees, or shrubs, worm castings can help create healthier, more productive soil.

Will worm castings replace natural fertilizer?

Worm castings are best thought of as a soil builder rather than a traditional fertilizer.

They help improve the health of your soil so plants can make better use of the nutrients already available.

Many gardeners use worm castings alongside other organic gardening practices for the best long-term results.

How often should I apply worm castings to the garden?

Worm casting slow releases over two months once added to the garden, so it is recommended to tap it up every two months. However, if you are using a small quantity each time or adding worm tea, then doing so more frequently is highly recommended

How much castings should I add to the garden?

Research was done on the volume of castings to use in the garden using 5%, 10% and 20% All three yield good results but it was found that 20% is quantity. However, it is not always feasible if you are buying worm castings or you are just starting out in worm farming or depending on the amount of worms you have.

If the volume of castings is not enough to cover your garden, using what you have to make worm tea will give you a wider coverage, then you can add the used castings to the garden as well.

Or, you can a little to each hole that you are panting in.
